The Dragon Bridge, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The bridge was built between 1888 and 1907 at the order of mayor Ivan Hribar, in honour of the fortieth anniversary of the rule of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I. The concrete construction of the bridge was quite innovative for the time, and each side is guarded by two large bronze dragon sculptures, the work of A.M. Beschorner of Vienna (the dragon is part of Ljubljana's coat of arms).
