The cloister at the Monastery of Sv Petar u Sumi (St Peter in the Woods), first mentioned in documents from 12th century, Sv Petar u Sumi, Istria, Croatia. The cloister was remodelled during the Renaissance period, when the older Romanesque columns with arcades were moved to the upper floor, and new ones installed on the lower floor (shown here). Much of the rest of the building dates from the 17th century, after the earlier one was destroyed by fire in 1616.
